Corsa 1.2 8v, averaging 30.77mpg is this reasonable for a 14 year old car which has done 128,000miles?

Worked out my mileage and fuel consumption over the past month - didn't know if this was good, bad or average...........

miles per American Gallon, she's actually doing 37mp[UK]g, about 300 miles to a tank damn Samsung Americanised conversions

Its probably the fact that you don't have to rev the xe's as much, as they can cope with what they are pulling better than the 1.2's

I was thinking about the possible negative side to buying a calibra SE7 until we finish the house as opposed to running mine, and the only downside I could come up with was possible fuel consumption - but it sounds like I'd be better off, every 4th week would be free in theory by comparison to the figures I'm getting at the minute

Depends how you drive it.

I've had near on 350miles in my 12v, just at the mark before red.

I never let it run down anyhow.

My pretty new 1.2 does about 40mpg average - I'm sure you should be getting alot more that 30 even at that age!

12v on the motorway isn't good. It should be 6 speed to bring the revs back down.

I have never taken it right down to the red though, so christ knows what I'd get from full to practically fumes. And mostly change gear at 4krpm to get anywhere
