How are we all, in terms of relationships with our daddys?
Mym mum and dad split up when I was a kid. I used to speak to him quite frequently like once a month. this yr I haven't spoken to my dad since fathers day, he doesn't know anything about how I lost my job and moved out of my gaff. I'm seeing him tomorrow at my sisters and am wound up to fuck awaiting him judging me, I shouldn't care but I do. I feel like i'm, going to lose my rag and knock the fuck out of him.
Why does it matter, I feel I have locked up anger
I'm a bit drunk btw

My parents split up when I was 13, didnt see my dad for about 5 years properly. When he started seeing my mum again I didnt want to forgive him and wasnt having any of it. It took time but I accepted the fact that we all fuck up at some point, and I figured if anything happened to my dad id regret not knowing him. Hes made a big effort to include himself in mine and my brothers lives and he does alot for us. Hes not the same father figure and doesnt have the same authority, more of a friend. Worth thinking about though mate, if anything happened to your dad would you regret not getting to know him better?

My dad played being dad til I was 16, a kid is for life not just the 1st 16 yrs
I'm just sick of it, I shouldn't give a fuck about his opinion on me, he makes no enquiries on how my life is going. He speaks to my brother twice weekly cos' they are wired the same (which I honestly wouldn;t take way from them) and it took him 2 months to meet his grand-daughter (my sisters kid). I'm all for having a give and take level relationship but he seems to have forgotten he's the daddy

my dad was my best mate
worst day of my life when I went to the docs with him to find he had terminal cancer
I had just bought a house with my girlfriend
but with her support I quit my job and looked after him for nearly 4 months at home
he split with my mum when I was 8 and I was deemed old enough to decide who I wanted to to live with and chosse him in a instant
We did everything together
even going out and getting pissed
I did my best by him and he went above and beyond that for me
never does a day go by that I dont think of him and try and do things that would make him pround
Always think about the last words you speak to your loved ones
they could be the last one day and I think some people will live to regret them

He had a quad heart bypass in april. You shouldn't be worried about your dads opinion to the point it makes you not want to speak to him imo. ^^ I don't know what to say to the above post, I'm sorry for you.
A father son relationship is not a friendship, I'd love to be cool enough for it to be like that. In reality though he should know his place in it. Moving 200 miles away when I turned 18 kind of shows his commitment to his kids once we all got passed custody age fucking selfish cnut.

whoooah dude, dont be apologising m8
My dad is stil alive although i dont see him much. My stepdad looked after us from age of 5 so i guess he was more "my dad" in a way.
He was really fit & healthy then just suddenly had a stroke out of the blue in 1999. Sadly our last conversation a few days before wasnt a happy one

Tom,
I fell out with my dad once (he worked abroad at the time)
I dont think I spoke to him for four years....not a great idea, bt different circumstances to yours.
TBH, if he makes the effort to see/embrace/appreciate you then take it in...if not (and you feel you have moved on/away) then keep on moving and make your own path in life
Sorry to hear that Burgess and Kerry

Jules I will make my own way, it's just a little hard to swallow when he's there so much for my brother and on a different scale with me and my sister.
Anyways, it's just a lesson on what not to do when I have my won
