hey,

posted about an incident a few weeks ago where my eml came on then went off again during driving...

on a journey in and out of glasgow today the light came on and off 5 times and the car was runnin like a big turd, kept on dropping below idle n making the car almost stall...

i have been informed by a reliable source that issue will most likely be caused by a faulty lambda sensor? does this sound correct?

if so, how easy is it to replace? i have been told its placed in the manifold - is that correct?

cheers

yep the ecu will log/record the fault even if the eml isnt on, as it will register it as a soft code (something that isn't perminantly at fault) where as if the EML was on all the time the code loged would be called a hard fault code, this should be the same base for all code reading machines on fords they are calld DTC's (diagnostic trouble codes/soft codes) and CMDTC's (Constant memory diagnostic trouble codes/hard codes)

well it passed its MOT and emissions didn't seem to be a problem although the eml did come on after the guy had taken his foot off the accelerator after accelerating for a good few minutes to get a reading...

has this ruled out the lambda sensor as being the cause of the problem or could it still be it?

cheers again

Because it will make the car run worse. My 1.2 wouldnt idle, went juddery and was generally wank with a shit ebay one. Forked out for a bosch one, ran like a dream, even pulled harder
