Thinking about getting a more comfortouble/safer runabout than my nova Also want something a bit more economical so it has to be a diesel.
Got about 2K to spend. Been looking at Mk4 Astras, Polos, etc.
Insurance shouldnt be too much of an issue as long as it isn't silly. (21 Yr old, 3 Years No claims, 3 points, 1 accident at fault)
Also has to be cheap to fix if anything goes wrong and as reliable as possible.
Don't really want a 306 as my mate had quite a few issues with his.
Any recommendations?
Thanks

Vectra would be nice, alot of them have crazy miles though and while im not too fussed about it i will be running this car for a good couple of years.
How many is too many on a car like a Vectra or Astra?

Seen a few A4's and Passats. These likely to be expensive if anything goes wrong?

Audi A4 and Passats are exactly the same underneath, but Passats are bigger in the back for some reason. My A4 hasnt given my any problems so far, but it all depends on how well you look after it mate. Personally i prefer the A4 over the Passat, but both are great cars, and both have excellent build quality

Thanks for the info mate Seriously considering one of the 2. Alot of them have over 150,000 miles though which puts me off a little.
Clio is a good shout aswel guys, what will i get for 2k Phase 1 or 2? Guessing 2 will be out of my price range?
