Ok Jamby has been a naughty boy

Coming off a roundabout on a dual carriageway, going reasnably slow a black Omega with polsihed wheels started to speedup in lane next to me like he wanted to race. I was accelerating away to catch up to following traffic.. Sure enough as soon as i got past him (doing speed limit btw) he flew out tailgating me not rediculasly close, but closer than i like any car at 60/70mph. We hit traffic he stayed behind so did i.

Got further down the road he was still following me and still close....

So me being stupid as i am decided to floor it when the traffic moved and i was feeling a little silly and gigly and reached a silly speed...

As i pulled left to slow down after i had "Made my point" These big blue flashing lights came on

Yup im busted.

Now i know i was in the wrong for speeding, this isnt one of those threads contesting my innocence. But essentially the cunt provoked me and tailgated me, fair enough it was my descion to go fast to get away from him but that was probably his plan all along.

But he was extremely cockey, and a very odd person to try and talk to, i wasnt rude or cocky or short or anything i gave all information and was truthfull in everything i said. He asked why i drove so fast and i said i dont like people tailgating me. Then he went right for that im reporting you
So i laughed and he said "you think this is funny?!" I said no i dont understand your attitude im not trying to be difficult or anything im telling you the truth. He then went quiet and said hes reporting me

They mentioned he had it all on video, but they didnt show me Didnt even take me for a talk in the back of the car none of that....

He gave me a little slip of paper to say they had stopped me. And then said yeah bye.

Then left

WTF. So im looking at possibly loosing my liscence, but having never ever been caught for speeding before i thought they gave you a ticket there and then?!! Am i going ot get one in the post then?
Could they be bulshitting about the video? But im not sure why they would as there were 2 of them so im sure that counts as evidence..

Any advice/tips????

Not sure what fine im looking at either tbh

Any help appreciated and yes, i am a fool.

Sounds a bit odd tbh, what age Omega was it? Thought they were all out of action now i.e. could have been a dodgey police officer.

If they got you on camera speeding, I'd have thought they have themselves on camera tailgating and what not?!

Did you see their badges etc? And does the slip they gave you have their police force details on it etc?

I've heard of people being stopped by people impersonating police officers before.

After watching Traffic Cops on BBC1 (I know this doesn't make people experts) I thought they took you into their car to caution you etc for their and yours safety.

Im not entirely in the know on this subject....

Surely though....its against police rules to provoke someone into speeding?!

Its as good as them signalling for a race then arresting you for street racing!

Cant be done IMO

Say you felt intimidated and this lead to you being scared, fearing for your own personal safety. Therefore you felt the need to try and escape from the vehicle that was following you so closely

Seems odd, you might end up on the next episode of real huste.

Moral of the story is, if you get tailgated by an omega, slam the anchors on instead of booting it.

something that works quite often is to say you got scared and thought someone was chasing you, for some reason iv known many people get off for stupid speeds when they say this

its almost like they have to or something

what is the slip of paper like. A few years ago I got one for been stopped speeding. Its a yellow slip that you take to the police station to show your docs and it also has the speed that you were caught doing on it etc and the limit of the road. And is signed by you and the police.

Did they say take it to the local station with docs etc

Thanks for comments

He had badges, there were 2 of em radios my details in IIRC it was an 03 plate omega.

He didnt read me my rights, just gave me a slip with details that they had stopped me and said he was reporting me for excessive use of speed on the road i was on,

for legal reasons i dont want to say how fast i was going, stupidly fast is best way to describe it

I'm sure if they put the wrong details down that invalidates the ticket..
