I want another corsa to start a project and was thinking about an XE or LET. what are the pro's n con's of both? what conversion parts will be needed?
shafts, hubs, brakes, susp,
what cost am I looking at for a LET?
how much for someone to do the conversion roughly?

If I was to start again i'd probably go for a really high spec'd XE over LET

Thats what i was thinking, I've had a XE already and although it was fast I'd like to go faster, I could build it over a period of time and get everything perfect before it hit the road.
the thing that scares me about getting a LET is if the turbo went or something mega serious. on my XE all the problems i had were easy fixes.
If I supplied engine, box, shafts etc etc everthing needed for the conversion how much for someone to fit it all do uz reckon? (beardy, lee mitchell etc)

no reason for the turbo to blow if you buy a decent one in the first pace
my corsa had a brand new engine from vauxhall though

decent let £800 upwards
personally i wouldnt bother with the expense of an f28 my f18cr did fine
as for power its entirely up to you and your budget,

do you have to block off something on the F28 to make it 2wd?
would an f20 fit and what sort of top speed we talking with an F20? I used to get 143ish in my old XE, would it be much the same?
Edit - Private roads only

If your already talking about not going into £000's and wanting to do it cheaply, dont even concider a LET.

the f28 needs a blanking plate yes, and its expensive to buy in the first place.
and f20 will fit fine,
i was told with my f18cr that my car wouldnt be all that quick top end,
150 was fast enough for me, my speedo only read 130 had to get my dad out on his motorbike

no i mean i dont want it going into thousands for the tuning part.
I can get a brand new C20LET for £1120 + vat from vaux. got the partsman looking into seeing if it comes with everything.
imo I'd be better off buying that than a 2nd have 1.
what do you lot think?

no way that comes with everything
it'll come with nothing, unless your giving them a c20let in exchange, even then it'll come with bugger all and you'll be swaping bits over.
ive done it, i know, and i worked for vauxhall at the time
