This REALLY interests me, if it does fit on XE/LET mounts, I might have to give it a bash next year

Depends on the model.
The 2 litres make between 150 and 205bhp.
The 2.3 makes between 150 and 260bhp, depending on the car it came from.
They all have steel rods and cranks as standard, and are apparently capable of 400bhp with no internal changes

Sabb B204 engine I think that is. Not sure on power, but the 9-3 was based on an opel, or designed by them or sumat.

i heard the saab v6's are near enough identical to vauxhall's one, and mount's the same, so i cant see why the a saab turbo wouldn't be any different

Yeah, the Saab V6 is actually a C25XE in the 900 early 9-3, even the plastic covers are the same
I know for a fact the Saab B204/B205/B234/B235 all use the same gearbox pattern as big block Vauxhalls, it's just the engine mounts which no-one seems 100% sure on.
Like you say though, if the V6 is the same, and mounts the same, why would the others not?

Just done a search on tinters and theres a lot of posts saying that these are easily tunable with possible 500BHP without any internal work......blimey!!
A lot of posts state the gearbox bolt pattern is the same.
Canna find any pics to look at the mount on the drivers side though.
They do a 2.3 aswell, 230BHP Reckon you'd get that in a corsa?

That's the 3.0, but it's the turbocharged one, so the inlet might be different for that one?

Dean, some of the later 2.3s have 260bhp.
The block is the same size for both 2.3 and 2.0, so if the 2.0 will fit, so will the other

Robin, if the block used is the same as the GM one, that'd lead me to think you could bolt the LET mounts to the B204 block.......what you reckon?

the engines from b204/b234 have a gm bolt pattern (9000's new generation 900's and early 9-3's)
the Saab engine in its older guises b204 and b234 are very very good engines and vastly superior to the later GM meddled 205/235 which are prone to sludging (late 9-3's and all 9-5's)
the 204 and 234 are identical apart from the stroke
the 204 being vastly undersquare and with the right ancillieries you can tweak them to 10K rpm
both are vastly overengineered ,go on forever, and can be tuned to the max...500hp on standard internals

i was thinking along the line of the omega one, with the inlet's in the midde, going straight to wing...

The block in the V6 is the same (as is the rest of the engine) but I'm not sure the 4 pots are.
However, the 900/9-3 is a Cavalier in a dress, so the engine mounts on the car itself will be Vauxhall type.
You SHOULD be able to use the Saab mounts on the engine, bolted to conversion mounts in a Nova/Corsa, even if the block is different, in theory.
Anyonw got a Saab dealer near them and a spare XE engine mount?

Yeah, I just mean the N/A 3.0 V6 (if they do one) might have the Omega inlet, the turbo one definitely doesn't though, as you can see.

There's none on ebay at the moment which are definitely the right engine, but they're never more than £500 from what I've seen, for a complete engine and ancillaries.
Unless you go for a buy it now one that is.
There's one on there for £250 at the moment, but no details of which car it was from. Could be a potential bargain if it's a full pressure 2.3
