Does sound like a cam/valve problem. Have you got a compression tester?

The second vid looks like some of the valves weren't closed properly when the cylinder tried to fire and spat its self back out the inlet. What work have you done since it started last?

no i havent got a compression tester . it was a engine bought from someone else, just been fully rebuilt by him, with new gaskets, cambelt and stuff. its done 45,000miles.
it hasnt started for a while, (not too long)! and im not sure about the timing as he didnt say anything, engine is all the same, i just transferred over my inlet and exhaust manifold from the x14xe.

Go out and get a compression tester, theyre about 10 quid and would be a great help to you here. If you have a haynes manual it will tell you how to check the cam timing. when it did start up was it still mis-firing? it gets quite loud on the video so its hard to tell

yeh when it does start up it is very loud, sort of like a machine gun quite poppy! it smokes a little bit aswell from the engine and you can smell some petrol?

Like i say mate your best bet is to get a compression tester, borrow one or buy one. Then if youve got low compression start looking at the cam timing or maybe bent valves
