want to get rid of my car now, want something abit more comfy, sick of my car scraping on speed bumps all the time .

got £2500 to play with, want something reliable, insurance cant be more than group 8, and good on fuel about 32mpg.

so far i have looked at,

renault megane coupe
peugeot 306 d-turbo (already had one)
ford focus
vauxhall astra 1.6/1.8 sxi

need some other suggestion on other cars if there is any, or which 1 out of that group.

Probably as bad as my 1.6 307 on fuel

I get 40 - 45 MPG, mainly motorway miles.

Depends what you want really. If you want a larger car that you're not going to touch then yeah, a Focus is a nice choice.

Probs pic up an 02 plate with 50k on the clock for 2.5k

My 307 is not as quick on the motorway as my 1.4 Corsa C due to the revs sitting lower.

I'd like a mk2 ibiza 1.9TDI 90bhp (golf engine) for the road when i can afford to have a 2.0 16v stage car.

what about a scooby estate. not the turbo just the GL. i now you might be thinking you wont get insured but just try it. im 18 with 6 points an revoked licence an i can get insured on one for just over £1300 an thats cheaper than i can get insured on a corsa. the scooby is a 2litre aswell so not like its slow but will do motorway miles all day
