the tyre wall on a 215/35 will be tiny, Astra is not a lightweight car, there wont be enough protection imo.

I've had 225/40, 225/35 and 215/35.

The 215 were the reason most of the damage that is on my rims now was done. They offer no protection whatsoever and the ride is absolutely horrible.

The 225/40 looked huge.

I settled for the 225/35. Still very skimpy but marginally better than the narrow ones.

215 to me seems too thin for an 8J rim.

Recommended on what grounds? That they're similar to standard radius?

It certainly isn't recommended for best ride!

i went to about 6 shops when getting my wheels and they all recommened the same tyre size so i thought it was the normal size they fitted

mine is not the nicest ride but then i drive the corsa most of the time so it always feel smoother might have to have a change round then as mine are on there way out

Probably the best option to ensure clearance but I wouldn't have them if there were alternatives.

Not sure if you saw me edit your other post, but you don't need to quote if the reply is so close to the post you're replying to. I think you would still be understood if we didn't see the image twice.
