if you were to own or already own a corsa c what is the best model and engine size to go for? or would you prefer the corsa b 1.6 sport?

i its just that i will be wanting a new car next year and would love to get a corsa c as it more modern but not sure what the best model ect is as they dont do them in a 1.6 for some strange reason or do i stick with the corsa b and get the 1.6 sport around a W or X reg?

what would you do?any advice welcome

There's no comparison if you drive both in standard guise, Corsa B is a raw old fashioned drive and the C is a far more refined modern car.

Why would they have to do a 1.6?

Offered 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 and 1.8 as the quick option. 1.6 wouldn't have been quick enough in N/A form probably.

C will be newer, lower mileage, perhaps easier to find with more spec but also more money.

I have a B because its a second car. If it were my main and I had more money to put towards it I would definitely go for something newer just because it is less hassle.

I'd say the Corsa C SRi 1.7 CDTI is a better bet IMO. Probabaly slightly more epxensive to buy but by far the best all-rounder.

Its not as quick as the 1.8, but it isnt far off either. I've had a play with one once, and from a standing stop to silly speeds (115..ish ) the 1.8 only got about 4-5 car lengths ahead, hardly earth shattering. With a tuning box i'd bet the 1.8 wouldnt get away from the 1.7 CDTI at all.

With that and up to 550+ to a tank on the motorway you can't go far wrong.

My 1.8 could do 400 maybe more to a full tank, if i put a tunning box on mine "well re-map in my case" i would still be 5 car's ahead

You would be suprised

alot of 1.8 with just a full exhaust system and a re-map see between 130 and 140 bhp, my freind's had exhaust, piper-X viper and mapped

it see 153 and 148 on two diffrent rolling road session's

Thats not bad, but that isnt just a remap either . A tuning box for the CDTI will cost about the same as a decent exhaust for the 1.8, then theres the induction kit and a remap on top of that.

The 1.8 is a good engine, but i think the 1.7 CDTI is the better all round. Cheaper on insurance too .
