some muppet from newcastle is suing william hill for letting him gamble all his money away causing him to lose his home and business

just on the news on the radio. i mean wtf! if he is allowed to do this then its a sign this country truly is fucked

regardless of what you think of the company dont you think its stupid that someone is allowed to sue them for letting him gamble?

at the end of the day, it was his choice

it would be like someone suing the oil companies for driving a car that drinks fuel imo

My boss went into a full on rant yesterday about how this country is going to the dogs the thing is theres too many people out there looking for easy money its sad to say we live in a claim crazy country. Hopefully he wont win

If you read the story on that link he's actually in the right.

He asked for a self exclusion order,meaning he wasnt allowed to gamble for 6 months in any william hill bookmaker with his account,which william hill agreed upon.

Yet he was still allowed to use his account after a formal agreement with william hill saying he couldnt.

Hes well within his right to sue them.

There was a case a little while ago with the same thing. It wasn't for so much money but I'm pretty sure the guy won.
He had mental health problems but it was the same thing with the bookies agreeing with his carers not to serve him and then doing it anyway
