i know this has been covered before but i want answers to some other questions if anyone can give a definite answer?

so far i've:

washed - with meguiars gold class shampoo using sonus wash mitt and 2 bucket method

hosed down but not dried

clayed - with chemical guys quick detailer

quickly washed again with meguairs (5 minutes to get quick detailer off)

dried - with a microfibre towel

polished - using autoglym SRP

tomorrow i'm going to add a sealant and wax.

the only ones i have at the moment are autoglym extra gloss protection which worked well the last time i tried it and meguiars stage 3 carnauba wax - takes a lot of effort and time to get a good result.

which do i do first? sealant then wax? or visa versa?

also, how long do people recommend to keep the polish/sealant/wax on for to achieve a nice deep shine?

i usually leave polish on for about 30 mins, sealant for an hour (says on the bottle) and wax for 30 mins? should i decrease or increase any of these times?

lastly, if anyone has any specific recommendations for a GOOD wax for a white car, please let me know (anything other than dodo juice)

thanks for any help, appreciate it

and here's how the car looks so far not bad for a half arsed job i think

wax, depends really. Most are on and off, such as poorboys nattys blue. Sealant before wax as it seals in the shine before the protection stage. Only decent wax I have had is nattys blue so I'm guessing regular nattys will be decent. I have seen good results from the blackfire sealant and wax on detailing world and seeing as most sealants dont like wax over the top of them (don't take to the wax) then you could get them to as they're designed to work together

Sealent, then wax over the top.
You find i'm guessing stage 3 hard to get off? how long are youleaving it on for?

I normally go round the car with polish/wax and when i'm finished putting it on go back to where i started and take it back off.

This time, through mostly being lazy I left the wax on for a good couple of hours.
Don't know if that had any benefit or not but it certainly didn't do any harm

I also used only meguiars stuff that I had in my garage, results looked goofd to me.

as its been said, sealant then the wax. you're doing the sealant ok. but the wax, i tend to buff off as you can see it just starting to dry out. if you're struggling with removing it, try p21s its really easy to get off.

also the polish, i wouldnt say you need to leave it on for 30mins, i'd work it hard when its wet, then wipe off the excess straight away, as a polish is an abrasive cutting compound so leaving it on doesnt do anything, but working it on the paint does.

Your really only ment to wait tillthe wax is starting to haze,
I do it, do two pannels then remove... comes off easy as.

yes it gets dirty after about 10 miles

and yeah i find the meg stage 3 wax quite difficult to buff off if left for any amount of time.

i've been looking at collinite 476s, p21s or poorboys nattys (white) but can't decide which one would be best.

i spend far too much on cleaning products

monster - i do too but when i get the focus st it will definitely be in orange, had enough of white getting dirty

As for a decent wax I'd recomend Collenite, I did the clio when i first got it and after every wash it comes up gleaming now, quite durable and gives a great shine.

I tend to use Chemical guys WMF for a glazing product.

When should you polish? Before or after wax.

Don't know what order to do everything.

Do I...

  1. wash?
  2. Polish?
  3. Wash?
  4. Wax?

Also, whats the "two bucket method"? Bit clueless sorry.
