micheal bay wasnt gonna make transformers 2 at one point unless it was on blue ray.. he rekons it will take up to a year but we will see it!

MP3 players and Ipods/Irivers etc. are far more versatile and was probably a factor..

Tapes were still going for a few years after CD's were introduced. Didn't stop the sales but eventually they went. Same with videos and DVD players.
MP3 still had a big part in killing off the minidisc or even disc player. How many people do you see waling around with a portable cd player?.

I really dont think minidisc ever took off, not because of MP3 players, but because people didnt see much of an advantage over CD's, so didnt want to bother upgrading from one to the other.
MP3 was the final nail in the coffin at the end of the day, but it certainly didnt begin the downfall of it.

Mini Disc wasn't superior to cds, it was designed as a replacement for the cassette but recordable audio cds made them obsolete. Radio DJ's still use them as many demos are still recorded with Mini Disc.
