Hi,

I'm thinking of buying one of these for my car but I am unsure what make to go for Lexmaul, Dbilas or Mantzel?

Has anyone got any of these that can give me more information e.g power gains, fitting and prices?

Thanks

Lexmaul, easiest to fit. Even spread of power but uses a lot of the standard inlet. Also don't think they are made anymore, but not sure on that.

Dbilas/Mantzel, hardest to fit, can be confusing if your not familiar with t'engines. Good gains, but peaky power at the top of rev range. Priced at about £500 from Mantzel direct, or cheap copies for about £150ish.

Ignore all this 22BHP shit aswell, mare like 10.

yeah I made 25 bhp with a MAntzel, Superchip generic chip and increased fuel pressure.

Made only 12 without increasing fuel pressure

tbh even a 10bhp gain will easily be noticable on a 1.4/1.6

I'd just get a mantzel copy

This is mine. I also gained a lot of torque(not peak torque, but the torque stays high through the revs instead of dying off)

Thanks guys
Does anyone know where I can get hold of them, apart from on here and ebay?
The only problem I will have is fitting it, as been told it is quite hard?

Had mine done in a few hours.
The hardest bit is removing the old inlet and throttle body

the copys, mantzel and diablis are all essentially the same. Only the lexmaul that is different and will give a differnt power delivery as said.

I have a mantzel one fitted to mine with a remap and 421 manifold and got 125.6 bhp. But ignore power figures really as you can definatly feel the difference on the road. Feels a bit smoother too due to the more even spread of torque like said above.

Ok cool. So how much estimated would you say I would get if I got a Mantzel inlet, with performance downpipes, Sports Cat, full exhaust system, power boost valve, steel billet lightened flywheel, k and n induction kit? Any ideas or don't have a clue lol!

well mine is

Mantzel
421 manifold
magnex cat back exhaust
diablis ECU chip
Ported and polished cylinder head

The remap raises the rev limit on the ecu so that it can gain the extra power as there is more avalible higher up with the new inlet. Although for this I am running arp bolts in the engine and sbd cambelt rollers to keep the engine healthy at those higher rpms

Heres the graph I got the other week when it was done

Heres my setup.

Took me and my mate quite a while to fit it. But we just worked steady away with frequent tea breaks and trips to the chippy lol!!

Shouldnt too long if you crack on with it though.

Lol, well sounds a pig to fit but hopefully I will get there! I think I will go for the Mantzel, I just wasn't sure as it was a copy so thought it wouldn't give out the same power gains!
So how much bhp are you looking at if you fitted the mantel when the cars standard?
Most people have got no more than 10 bhp from them!
