Go in the bookies, much better than online.

Look at the odds, place your bet on what you think will happen. Take slip to desk and pay your money.

Then cross your fingers and pray to God that the silly bet thats 128/1 will come through.

Dont they do them easy to complete national betting slips for all the women who decided to bet this weekend...

Just pick one of them up....put a cross next to your horse and the stake at the bottom...hand it in...job done...

Pick your horse which you want to win, back it each way, so say, as i doubt you'll want to place more

£2.50 each way on it

If your horse comes in the first 4, you'll get a return

£2.50 each way = £5 is also another thing to note, as seen people infront of me in the queue not realise this before

Yeah, if you back each way, say 2.50 each way = 2 bets = 5quid

Any random horse, red rum (PS This one defo wont win)

So youve backed it each way at say 20/1

2.50 goes on it to come first

2.50 at 20/1 will return £50

the second 2.50 on the each way part of the bet goes on the horse to come in the first 4, 1-2-3-4, at one quarter of the original odds

so you would have the second 2.50 on at 5/1 returning you 12.50 profit if it came in the first 4

OMG that's just fcuking ridiculous. If you're not able to fill in a betting slip properly you shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a betting shop!!!

In the Grand National yes it will pay out for 4th place if you back the horse e/w or for a place. On other races it depends how many horses are running- most pay out to 3rd place and some small races with say 6 runners (like novice races) only pay out to 2nd. Bigger races with lots of runners over X amount pay out to 4th.

I have online accounts with Ladbrokes, BlueSq, Bet Fair and William Hill

Only tend to use Ladbrokes though, unless the odds are much better on one of the others which does happen from time to time.

Betfred is ok, pretty much the same as the others. Think they also do poker and lotto (Irish?) if online too. Don't know much about them online, although the guy who works at Dones (betfred) in Aylesbury is HOT, that's all I know about betfred tbh

BetFred give better odds on a lot of things, such as Irish lottery, and apparently give better payouts of lucky 15s etc??

Sorry to be stating the obvious but if they give better odds then clearly if you do a lucky15 they're going to be paying out more if it pays out...

Ladbrokes, Betfair, Paddypower is what I use. I open an account with someone if they do like £20 free bet if you place a £10 on a single, thats the only time i'll open a new one.

I'm staying clear of betting at the moment anyway as i was slipping back into spending to much on it!

(I may have a few bets this weekend though )
