Cats wernt around when these were made

Tuning a NA CVH is quite ££ imo but a set of piper cams full exhaust, and a superchip sounds the way forwards. Decent suspension something like a set of Billsteins and maybe a ST170 brake upgrade and it'll be a right hoot.

im not expecting to get silly straight line speed, to be honest my cupra does that

just want something with a bit of nippyness, thats gonna have a half decent engine, with good brakes (upgrades) and decent suspension

so it'll be a straigh through exhaust anyway then

lol the cams will have to wait until everything else is done..

stripped and suspension will be first
then exhaust etc
then brakes
then maybe the cams

cash and all that

if it see's 125bhp i'd be happy

as im aiming for under 800kg which is easily reachable in a 900kg standard car

Got your list the wrong way round.

Well your right, first strip it and get new suspension. Then get your uprated brakes. Then get some different wheels (15" off another ford to assure perfect offset and obvcourse cheapness) with low profile tyres.

Stuff power atm. You need the above.....they are must on track, then learn how to drive the thing (ie get use to its characteristics). You will go quicker round a track if you get the above sorted , then leaving them and just going straight for exhaust and chip etc

To my suprise theres an exhaust already fitted lol..

the suspension is a must as the front isnt too hot..

want tp concentrate on the handling more than anything... front and rear struts can be had cheapish too..

shame you can't get it ready for combe! would be a good test for it.

I still suggest coming down to combe next week just to watch the track action or blag passenger rides mate. Probably see a few people running em on track that you can ask whats best for etc.
