Strugglign to get any kind of consensus on VAG specific forums so I'll open it up to all marques... anyone have particularly good experience of a brand of performance panel air filters?

ITG/Green/K&N ( ) all faired well in other posts I have made but some said they saw a difference, some said they saw little

Any of them, had a green one in my vrs, you will see no difference using any of them tbh.

I like Green cotton filters myself! No need for any oil so no chance of damaging the MAF! It was the only one Id dare put on my old P1 anyway!

I got one when I was changing my filter for the service, didn't cost much more, I agree a pointless exercise if you are expecting it to make any difference though.

Performance pannel filters in a drilled airbox are said to give good possitive gains over the standard and are even said to work as well as other inclosed kits such as the viper / cda

So all the people who are saying theres no point are therfore saying that a viper / cda induction kit is another pointless expense?

Not in a Subaru that has to be serviced every 6 months with a standard panel costing £20+VAT! The £40 Green filter had paid for itself after the second service!

You may see slight increases but nothing major! I suppose its one of those early modifications you do to complement others. Like the first thing I did on the P1 was uprated panel filter, exhaust with downpipe /decat and a remap.

Good alternative to people who dont really like induction kits
