Second fault with my 360 now, first one was a dead power supply that was fixed under warranty, but at the weekend I got three red lights during a DVD and my console is out of warranty.
I've submitted a repair ticket, and read that repairs a free of charge with the three red lights - awesome, however since I got the initial red lightage, it's failed to do it again - all that happens is the DVD/Game/Whatever freezes up about a minute into playing it, and the console lights go off altogether - just showing a frozen image in screen, sometimes freezing and 'juddering' the sound too indefinitely.
I'll send my xbox off regardless under the pretense that it shows red lights religiously - however what happens if they get the xbox and the lights don't decide to show for them, will they fuck me off?
I'm leaving the xbox dashboard idling all night tonight hoping that I get the 3 red lights again before sending it off
Anyone ever had a similar fault or experience with the microsoft repair service?

I would still send it TBH
Could be worse you could spend your day trying to register and get online to play a beta

The novolty of blue-ray will wear off soon, and when it does, all that we're left with is the games. Xbox has better games then the PS3 right now at a rate of 8:1

Please elaborate on these games. Please don't mention Halo 3 and Gears of War either. (The fanboy's favourites)

good lad.
ps3 has some amazing games, cod4, rsv2, gta4 soon. its a massively specced console for next generation, hence why not a lot of games, but the games available now are enough in the meantime.
plus ps3's dont break.

Only had my PS3 for about a month and have only played on 4 games. Of the 4 games, I can safely say that 3 of them have been amongst the best games I've ever played (and I also have a 360).
GT5: Prologue, Uncharted and COD4 are probably the best PS3 titles at the moment.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Halo 3 on the 360, it's a brillian game, but I don't know how someone can say that good games on the 360 outweight good games on the PS3 8:1. It's very even IMO, and the PS3 has ALOT more promising upcoming titles.

PS3 has been promising since it came out
Im no fanboy, but imo, 360 atm is the better console for gaming only (eg forget about blu-ray/hd drive etc)

Exactly.
I don't know of anyone, even from the internet that has had this error and proved it. I call BS.
*Awaits a link showing a screenshot of the error from www.xbox360rulez4eva.com*
