I WAS OUT IN MY CAR TODAY AND I NOTICED THE CAR WAS RUNNING AT OVER 100 ON THE SCALED, HAS MY HEAD GASKET GONE? I KNOW IM LOW ON OIL, CAN THIS BE THE CAUSE?

Head gasket is the most probable cause, check your oil and coolant.
Check around the head for oil or water.
Also take your oil and coolant caps off and if theres a whitey mayo substance.. Then yeah, its your HG 99% of the time

iv already check for mayo on the oil cap, theres nothing there, i know my oils low but i havnt checked my coolant

Thermostat? Air lock are the other things for that happening.

Ummmm, i would say coolant would be the most obvious one to check! That first, then 2ndly make sure the fan is kicking in too

Im gunna go for coolant, if you havent topped up your oil recently im guessing this wont have been topped up either.

want to find out the right oil instead of chucking in any oil, also the fans defo kicking in, i heard it, and thought iv never heard it as loud as that before, thats when i noticed that it was running at a high temp

probably 10w40.
where's the red line (temp) on a corsa?
running over 100deg might not necesarily be an issue, providing the system can maintain the pressure. the water wont boil under pressure. if the light comes on, then obviously be concerned.

Its illegal
Seriously, do you know what can happen if you don't top an engine up with Oil? TBH if the oil isnt topped up then i'd hazard a guess that your coolant is low. Then theres the condition of everything else.

so the fan kicked it but no drop in temperature?
u havent had an engine change or anything have you?
check coolant levels etc.

course i do, i topped it up with oil a week and a half ago, but drove back from london 100+miles with no oil cap on

also what condition is the rad in?
i borrowed a mates saxo that was over heating and that was partly because the rad was rotten and had less than half of the cooling fins.

its a 1999 model, fans not rotten, it cant be its also behind the air conditioning rad
