JL Slash amps.
JL W3 subs.
Rainbow Audio, Boston Acoustics or JL again from the components.
Nakamichi or McIntosh for amazing quality head units.

I agree with ED, JL All the way for me.
I ran a 500/1, 300/2 XR Components and a 13.5w6v2 and that was good.
A mate is running a 500/1, 300/4, VR Components and 2 x 8w7s and that is bassy!!
Another mate has just finished his install with a 1000/1, 500/5, ZR's running active and 3 x 10w6v2s, now that system hurts!!
The last 2 got it all off ebay for a bargin!!

yeah, if he's after SPL. A sealed box will produce a tighter and better quality bass. RE subs are good but you need the power to rub them, and to be honest there better suited at SPL stuff.
I agree, Rainbow or Focal components are pretty good and prices aren't too shabby.
What's your budget?

You've got the headunit and for 800 i think it's do-able.
Something like Rainbow SLC265 or CMX 265 comps (£179.99 & £220.00) or Focal 165VR (209.99) with a Rainbow iPaul 2.400 2 channel amp (£250).
Then a JL Sub and Amp setup (probably about 400 quid or so).
Personally i would spend as much on the components and the amp for them than the sub/amp combo, as they'll make the biggest difference (as well as sound prooofing) as there doing all the work above 40-50Hz.
