right got an 360 today just tried to set up for xbox live, tryed connecting it up to wireless router but it failed on network adapter so used the laptop but now its failed on ip address? where can i get that from because i really dont have a clue. thanks

check the router to see if you have it locked down to mac address.
also check and see how many IP address's you have your router setup to allow. i have mine set to only assign 5, the number of machines I have on my network.

ive gone onto run and put in ipconfig in and the run programme just closes ive put in192.168.1.1 onto the web address and its just come up with yahoo looking for that info on what it is, ive got vista and using belkin wireless router if thats any help

If everything else fails ali try whacking the ethernet straight into the modem 
Just means no laptop while u play xbox live

so just disconnect the wireless thing on my laptop and plug it into the router too see if that does it i give it a bash now

No get the other end of the cable thats running from ur 360 and plug it into modem.
I presurme uve got a cable coming from modem going into wireless router atm?

And it also helps if u reset everything to clear the arp table

Another thing u can try is plugging ethernet cable into laptop and try and do internet connection sharing...

orange just as bad really......and thats how im doing it got the ethernet cable into my laptop and the other end in the 360 how do you do internet connect sharing
