What engine size is that on the Vectra? Is it the 2.2 unit? In a year or so I might be looking at the Astra CDTi SRi
Vectra does look nice though

Yeah the wheels are rather expensive, look gorgeous though! The other half's new car as 19"s on though....so whoever damages a tyre first will prolly just steal one off the other persons car
keep this for a year, then vectra vxr time

nah not pulled anyone yet lol, have to wait for january for that, although corsa sport gav will be first on my list for his driving antics t'other day
I've not really drove it properly yet, just up the farm and back etc, roads have been silly and flooded, but other half thinks it feels faster/more responsive than my 2.0 astra sri. It is uber comfortable to drive, and sooo quiet compared to the corsa

Yes deano it does, but I was talking about this to mum last night who is looking at trading her Merc A180CDI in for a A3 1.6.
Tax might be £180 a year under new rules compaired to £120, but then your paying 2k extra for the "privilage" of driving a diesel. Plus the 10p a litre more in petrol your paying . So if she keep the car for 4 years, shes paying £240 extra in tax, which is conciderably less than the 2k initial outlay for the diesel over the petrol. You've GOT to think about it in the long run. I've had all my diesels before the prices got different (there was 1p difference between petrol and diesel when I got the Ibiza no.2) but now you HAVE to look at the long term cost.

I guess. BUT, in small engined cars, I'd rather have the diesel variant long term, than petrol.
For example, I'd rather have 1.3CDTi than 1.2 16v Corsa, or 1.6TDCi than 1.6 16v Fiesta.
There are savings to be had from having small engined diesel cars and driving them sensibly i.e. sitting at 70mph, not 80mph - 90mph because it can.
With bigger cars/bigger engines, you definitely need to be doing more miles.
