Can you haggle with a Fiat stealer on a service? I asked Kurt for a price and was genuinly scared when he told me what the going rate was,

can I be cheeky and get some money off?

Or take it to a Bosch Service Centre. Anyone who's anyone buying a new car will know these Bosch Service Centres don't void warranty, therefore it's just as good as a Fiat stamp. Have all your services done there and it'd be just as good

I don't know anything about bosch service centres.

It's nothing to do with the service being done properly anyway.

I know for a fact the service I do in my garage is better than any dealer does but people like to see the stamp.

My clio had a full renault service history

Basically, Bosch use genuine parts, and because it's a recognised brand in the car industry, it doesn't void your warranty. Therefore, imho, if it's good enough not to void your warranty, it's as good as a main dealer.

The brand wasn't introduced, but the fact they don't void your warranty thing was introduced as part of some EU Directive so that car marques don't monopolise the service sector and rip people off because they want to keep their warranty.

Any vat registered garage using genuine parts doesn't void the warranty.

People still like to see a dealer stamp though.

For instance the saabs i'm looking at, almost all have full saab service history, even though I don't care who serviced it if the car's alright, the ones without full saab look strange.

Exactly, you can even use aftermarket parts if they are of OE quality. Deano you really need to find out more info before you start handing it back out.

Yes.

If a garage uses OE or OE equivalent parts then the manufacturer can't refuse to honour the warranty. Doesn't matter what brand the garage is.

Main dealers wont be any better workmanship wise then a good garage maybe worse. Just a shame as a stamped up service book is a good selling point

Probably find a stamp on ebay
