20mm is a hell of a lot. anything up to 5mm is fine with the standard bolts and hubs. More than that you really want to be using hub-centric wheel spacers and longer bolts. These replicate the centre bore of your car so the wheel sits nice and central .

picture it.... 20mm - 2cm

|------------|

something like that

To me that is a lot for a car with no arch work etc. Maybe just get the wrong offset wheels!

Hubcentic spacers will be what you want. Not that cheap though. Google them.

How far do you want them spaced? 20mm is obviously 2 cm, just go and measure how far you want them moved outwards.

For 20mm, I'd assume you need hubcentric ones so the spacer still has somewhere for the wheel to locate onto, like the original hub has.

I'm not sure how easy it is to get hubcentric spacers for the Fiat 4 x 98 PCD though tbh mate.

Beaten to it

Edit: Adam, I didn't realise they had changed the hubs on the new Fiats. Any idea what the centre bore is?

What's the advantage of the non-pikey spacers?

more chance that your wheel will be all lined up with the centre of the hub. Same idea as spigot rings really

I'l be popping some 20mm spacers onto my TT before long depending on how the new wheels (when i decide) sit in the arches!

I've previously ran 10mm on the rear 5mm on the front of my corsa

they make the track wider, If I do 20 a side that 40 overall,

TBH its not the best handling to start with , Its only the back I want to do though

Rekon it will look shite with just the back done?

I think it looks fine how it is! tbh nobody is going to stare at your wheel arches and point out that you need spacers?

I desperately need wider wheels on mine. I heard recently that the RX8 wheels are actually narrower than the standard 16" or 17" RX7 rims.

Here's mine, spaced at the back too

Yeah. Needs wider though, looks like a fat woman sat on a little chair with her hips spilling over.
