How much has you car lost?

Going by the book figure of 1480kg for an early 'light weight' R32 GTR we have lost 120kg. (now 1360kg)

I think we have potential to get it into the 1200's.... high 1200's!

We have lost or 'gained' the following...

spare wheel
all carpets, interior trim and soundeadning
std seats replaced with lightweight buckets
some cutting out of un-needed metal brackets
Cutting down the wireing loom
No heating
removed the air con
no stereo

We still have a fait bit to do....

GRP doors, boot and bonnet, perspex windows - maybe save another 30kg overall
Remove HICAS - maybe 30+kg

781kg was what j18 was, with sound deading and glass, and metal panels

was a 1.28v trip, so what ever that was + the extra weight of a 1.6 16v, if there is any

More sound dead to come out and Fiberglass doors and boot still to come along with plastic windows.

davcohen - you have heaps left in there

I've no idea where the weight in the corsa's comes from/goes to.

I've stipped a couple, and from the general feeling of things I've removed heaps more from the skyline :/

M old white corsa must have been in the 800's.... so about 200kg loss

and the fat ass skyline

The skyline even has a lighter cage (chromolly over steel) than the corsa :/

i know it could be stripped down more but i used the car everyday, must say it does wake you up going to work at 5:30am, its so funny how you notice how everything makes a difference.

as i used it as a run around and it was on standard suspension it was great for going over speed ramps but not the best at cornering

great for entertaining people i guess

corsa b, book is 1030 + sun roof.

now its 782kg

i lost and gained the following:

6 cage thru to strut tops
removed boot floor
removed all trim
gutted dash
removed sun roof
removed bulkhead
cut out excess metal
crank, flywheel, pullies etc lighter than standard
has over 12L oil capacity now
all fluid lines replaced with prolite350 where poss
aluminium bulkhead fittings and line ends
aluminium bolts holding things together where poss.

since that weight was taken i have removed the door bars, rear bumper bar and some other random stuff.... so under 780kg now

yes, it works, drives, mot.

not run it in yet so no power figures.

i removed the bulkhead by the wiper motor, not the full lot...
