quote: With its flagship seemingly flagging, it was extremely timely to say the least that we now hear rumbling that Activision-Blizzard's CoD 4 will be back in the autumn of 2009 with a sequel, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
The "announcement" occurred this afternoon at the Microsoft-owned Massive Inc. in-game advertising up-front conference, where game companies show their wares to possible and prospective advertisers. Note that the news came without any details, screenshots or vids; however, the information was a relief, at least to those who thought that "CoD-6" might be a space-shoot-em up. Though we have no way of knowing for sure, the title suggests that the story line will not be in the future but in the present: a possibly chronological sequel to the amazingly popular Modern Warfare.
Taken from here
Opinions? Quite a suprise TBH, as all I've heard was the next in the franchise would be set in the future.

It's far better with more people matt, its shit how on console's there are only 12 man servers or whatever, I'd hate that.

8 FFA
12 TDM
18 War
And yea I agree could do with a few more people, espeically on the bigger maps like Airfield, Downfall and Seelow. I do like it though, I will not stop playing it until I have unlocked the PPSH SMG and the amazing sniper rifle, ive tried that thing from a pickup and its immense

After 17hr play on COD WAW I was getting bored. Went back to COD 4.
However went back on COD WAW on Sat night and am quite enjoying it.
MP40 seems to be the best gun for me!

Pro's and con's of each IMO, I think WAW is a good game and has some improvements over COD4. Not sure which I prefer TBH, prob a mixture of both.

COD 4 is the best game since Goldeneye on the N64 imo.
It may be years before it gets beaten!

Gotta agree with this. I've recently started playing WaW but I end up turning it off after a few games, it doesn't have the addictive factor cod 4 did.

The graphics and detail seem better on COD WAW.
But overall playability/guns/maps etc COD 4 beats it!
