Am I the only person who had never heard of this car before?
The Bristol Fighter T

Twin turbocharged and intercooled 8 litre V10 all aluminium engine.

1012 bhp at 5600 rpm.

1036 lb.ft of torque at 4500 rpm.

At 3500 rpm the standard Fighter produces a remarkable 525 lb.ft of torque. The Fighter T delivers a scarcely believable 900 lb.ft at the same rpm, and remains above that figure all the way up to the rev limit of 6000 rpm.

Drag factor reduced to 0.25 by a new rear wake diffuser.

A potential maximum speed of more than 270 mph has been electronically limited to a more than sufficient 225 mph at only 4500 rpm.

0 to 60 mph takes less than 3.5 seconds.

Ive heard of the Bristol Fighter before. Its rumoured to be the car that would give a Veyron a run for its money.

Would be good to see them battle it out.

bristol cars have been going for years. But from what i remember, they have to invite you to buy their cars, i don't you can walk into a show room and ask to buy one (i could be wrong).

edit - the Koenigsegg CCX (1018bhp on E85) is suppose to beable to do 60 in under 3secs and a top speed of 255+mph, so another veyron beater. But it hasn't been officially tested

Never heard of these either.

Nice figures but...

That's quite fast, but not STUPID fast, compared to other super cars. Especially considering it's packing 1000+ bhp! The Porsche 911 GT2 reaches 62 in 3,7 secs with near half the power.
Not much of a looker either, is it?

A 300+ bhp Pulsar will do the 60 dash in the 4s.

With that amount of torque, getting off the line would be an issue I'm guessing

Its all about gearing and final drive ratios. If you stuck the gearing from a pulsar in it you would just spend all day spinning the wheels and only get to 160 (dont quote me on this, just made it up)

Big power cars need taller gearing to make them quicker off the mark otherwise they will just spin up like crazy

To be honest I can't believe how slow these cars are nowadays.
In 1927 this car achieved 202mph with 1000bhp

And in 1938 this car got to 350mph

That was 70 years ago ffs

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
