Anyone had this done, please post your story?

2 guys at work have had it done in the last 3 weeks & both are absolutelly delighted with the results.

One paid £1200 & another £2000 (more expensive had anti glare & laser flap cut, not manual) both at optical express.

Ive been giving it some serious thought, the odds seem to be good nowdays of the proceedure working. The idea of never having to need glasses sounds too good.

What do we think?

I was thinking of booking myself in for a free consultation next year.

I didnt know that so many people get it done nowdays, but optical express Edinburgh was booked up until March & my mate only got it done now by offering to travel anywhere in Scotland to get it done sooner. They had a cancellation in the Aberdeen clinic so he had it done within a week of getting a consultation. Hes just phoned me on the train back home & said its great & his distance vision is better than with glasses already!!

Im tempted!!

Been thinking about this aswell! Not really looked into it, but asked a customer who had it done and she told me it can only be done on short sighted not long sighted, or might of been the other way around.

I can deal with that, just not pain IN my eye, like going from a really dark room to bright sunlight...

I used to work in optics, it can be quite uncomfortable for a couple of days you will be confined to dark rooms and will need to take eye drops quite regularly.

I was a bit weary about it but since all the wavefront technology has become more affordable it is quite tempting.

Girl had it done for her birthday present, only thing she complains about is sometimes it hurts her eyes when the sun is really bright, but other than that she now has better vision than me, from having to wear contacts/glasses all the time.

Well next year I start work offshore I'll have 3-4 weeks off so would get it done then when ive got plenty time off. The other guy that got it done recently was off a week but mainly as were based in a dirty workshop now & he didnt want to risk infection.

2 teachers at my old school had it done, 1 had it done god knows how many years ago, she said she never felt anything when she was having the surgery but she could smell burning

The other one had it done about 5-6 years ago, he planned it so it was done in the first few days of two weeks off incase there were any problems but still ended up wearing sunglasses for about 2 weeks back at school, he was all alright after that though.

I want it done, my eyes have gone bad recently but haven't got the money for glasses never mind laser so I'm just avoiding the issue by not going for an eye test till I can afford at least glasses

I think 2000 quids not too bad, how much would you shell out on glasses in a lifetime. New pair every 3-4yrs or so @ £150 a time!?

LOL what happens if you do not pay it, they come and repo your eyes.

A friend back in the UK had a boob job on HPI, I always wondered what they do if she never paid.
