some poor sod's m3 caught fire down southend tonight. was speaking to graham off here when i got there and he said it started smoking, the battery was sparking, then it just went crazy the bloke didn't even look old, sounded foreign.

graham has much better pics but here's a couple for you all.

front end looked fine. rear on the other hand

he didn't even know how to get back to seven kings, didn't seem pissed off though.

I can't believe how calm the bloke was

All started by sparking from the wires rubbing, as soon as he moved them sparks went everywhere and all hell broke loose. Throwing all the water I had at it, didn't stand a chance though, real shame, I think everyone was more gutted for the bloke than he was

He said "It's ok, I'll just go and buy another one"

what wires? Some kind of boot install? as from what I saw when we were there and in your pics the front end is untouched

Nah BMW's have their batteries in the boot located behind an access pannel.

My mate's brother's M3 caught fire too due to dodgy ICE wiring! Sounds dodgy as fuck tbh.

I was getting drunk down the road when this happened, shame I never saw it!
