Quite nervous about it all

I was at my last job since leaving 6th form so it's all I knew/know. My new job is totally different from what I've been doing for the last 7 years. Knowledge is power as they say and at my last place I knew alot. So back to square one for me. Hopefully it'll work out to be a good move. It should be alot more interesting and much more of a career. My last job was a comfort zone for me. But that's also why it got boring and stale.

Fingers crossed it'll work out.

Anyone else totally changed their jobs and found it to be a good move? Or a bad move?

Well done and good luck with it all Nath.

I have never turned to a new profession but I took on building up a very big business from nothing, using my own cash and knowledge of the trade/market I dove into, so it was a big step from just doing what I did previously, thankfully it all paid off and I've had a good lifestyle ever since.

Cheers guys

I'm sure after a couple of weeks I'll fit in and it'll feel normal. Left behind alot of good mates at my old place too. It was quite emotional really. Onwards and upwards, or at least that's the plan.

Tell me about it. I loved being in a good position at my last place. Knowing who the freaks were, all the internal politics and stuff I'll have to figure it all out again at my new place.

I went from a shop to an engineer for a narrowboat holiday company, got the sack 3 months and a couple of weeks later Only because they're gay money saving idiots though. Apparently it's easier to get rid of me than sell a couple of years old 5-series Beemer

Hope it goes well for you though mate, what're you going into?

I should get a phone call today about an interview as well, hopefully it's a good one

I hope it works out for you Nath. It didn't for me. A year ago I left my steady Supervisor job of 8 years in Tesco for exactly the same reasons. Got a job with a successful structural and civil engineering consultancy with the promise of on-the-job training and them paying me through University. Seemed amazing, I couldn't believe my luck! But only 5 months later I was made redundant. I'm now paying my own way through Uni, hating it and thinking of trying to get back into working in retail. But I'll have to start over again, if I can find a job. Not good times

spent years in factories on night shifts etc working weekends like a mindless zombie. its what i knew. the polish came in and the cheaper wage the agencies wanted for them meant we trained them up to take our jobs.

now a delivery driver and absolutely love it.
