Hopefully not a repost.

As many of you know my other half is a mot tester.. he just got a update from Vosa and it starts with immediate effect and pretty much makes MOST of our cars mot failures.

and it is this: (Taken from bulletin as delivered to mot stations)
Any exhaust fitted to a vehicle that changes the sound from standard in even the slightest way is an instant fail.

So no standard system NO MOT...

Copy from Midlandscoobies site & yes it's true.

Another great rule for the people and modders in UK

Enjoy!

Posted on CN as well.

Here you go; this is all you need to see.

Pass this around to any car site you use...useful for anyone with an exhaust to know.

Talk about over the top!

Is this for real?

How would this work for engine converted cars as there is no "standard exhaust"?

thats utter bullshit. my mot was a couple of days ago, it failed but my exhaust wasnt a reason.
they would have to have a recording of every car ever made to compare to.

Dont think my local would worry

If it's true though, an Astra VXR Nurburgring could pass with it's Remus exhaust fitted, but a normal Astra VXR with a remus fitted would fail?

Seems flawed.
