Only thing I know of is that the shoulders of the tyres can't be outside the arches.

Yeah, sorry, I wasn't very clear. I didn't mean the law states your car has to be so low the tyres are up in the arches

Some info i found on a pug forum.......
The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 (RVLR), as amended, control the colour of light that can be shown by vehicles on the public road. The unamended RVLR can be read on the internet at: www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si1...6_en_1.htm
Only white light can be shown to the front of a vehicle (with a few specified exceptions, such as amber light from turn indicators). Only red light can be shown to the rear of the vehicle (again, with a few specified exceptions). Red light must never be shown to the front of a vehicle. Light shown to the side of the vehicle should generally be amber. There are, of course, some exceptions to these general provisions, for example for emergency and special purpose vehicles.
Undercar lamps and neon lights are not specifically mentioned in the RVLR. However, it is our understanding they should conform to the colours outlined above, which could be difficult to achieve. There is a general requirement in the RVLR that no lamp shall "cause undue dazzle or discomfort to other persons using the road".
Also, under the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986, regulation 100 requires that a vehicle shall be kept in a safe condition and shall be used in a safe manner. The mounting on a vehicle of undercar lamps or similar equipment might contravene one of these provisions, especially if the lighting was blue, which is a colour reserved for the emergency services and therefore its use on other vehicles might be confusing or distracting and thus detrimental to safety.
Enforcement of road traffic law is an operational matter for individual Chief Police Officers and their officers can issue verbal warnings, fixed penalty notices or report the motorist for formal prosecution.
Yours sincerely,
Jillian Smith
