Thought I would start a thread as I don't think I've really posted many pics on here.

Picked this 2000 1.6 Sport up mid October

Its standard bar cupra badges and powerflow catback zorst which gives it a really nice tone.

First bits for it were;

Osram night breaker bulbs
Aero wipers (Bosch Aerotwin retro fit)

Then I gave it a semi-good clean,

Interior

And at night (love the red lights)

And the engine bay

Then came the stubby aerial

SeatCupra.net stickers then went on

New mats

LED sidelights (4 white led's)

Before

One of each

Random shot, whoops!

Front Cupra badge came off

Custom made induction kit

Also the gearknob had a inch long bit of plastic which had lost its colour, so it turned yellow of course!

Both CV joints then went, which cost £200 to get fixed

A wash and some better pics

Brakes then got changed (stayed standard) and also got a look at my exhaust which was blowing in 3 places!

Next up was time to improve the sounds, so I bought this little lot

Started installing
Been working on it this weekend, got about 3/4hours yesterday and 6 today (i can just about feel my fingers and toes again and I finished 3hours ago!)

Got the shelf made, all the cables routed, speakers in and doorcards and all trim back on. I just need to connect the amp and crossovers up, and then set it up

Shelf made for amp to sit on

Shelf in

Someone nicked it all!

Another strippage pic

Finished
From the drivers seat

It took me less than 24hours to blow those speakers up, had the settings all wrong on the amp

Then had a service and the guy looked at my exhaust, he put 2 new clamps and loads of paste on the exhaust joints. He was unsure about the manifold though, thinks its only a little blow (but sounds worse than it really is), he also found a pin hole size blow on one of the welds on the middle box. Apart from that its sounding better again and strangely slightly louder

I went to Santa Pod on the 1st Feb so decided to strip some bits

Interior's tempory home

O and a mod just for the Pod

Had a great day, car ran fine all day, clutch smelt a little after my fastest run of the day, but doing 19runs I kind of expect it.

Fastest time was 16.9 @79mph. Best top speed was 81mph and best 60ft was 2.45secs

Video of a 17.45 @ 79.6 run

Some proper pics
Snow location

Gave her a wash, polish and wax. Also took off the rear Cupra badge and sorted the dent in the splitter. The paint hasn't faded as much under the cupra badge though

and a reflaction shot (it had clouded over and just about to start raining)
Bonnet

Rear 1/4er

Some more pics and an update!

Change of plan again I think. Ive been thinking about timings of when I will get my 1ncb, MOT due, tax due etc, and as none of them are at the same time (tax end of april, NCB begining of june, MOT begining of july), also the timing of when I will have saved up enough for a mk4 Ibiza.

So I think it will get lowered now and possibly some Cupra wheels done gun metal/black Sooo I shall be keeping an eye out for some Cupra suspension and some cheap lowering springs, get them all bolted together, then the swap can be done quickly, same with wheels, also standards can be kept for when I sell her!

Happy days! (well not in the wallet anyway)

More pics!

Then today I gave her a quick wash for tomorrow's meet and also set about trying to get my exhaust back to how shiney it should be
During

What I finished with

And bought a sunglasses holder too
Before

After

Small update,

Gave her a wash today, did a little bit of claying, but it wasnt bringing off much so I gave up. Need to get some decent tar remover though

I also used a Meg's drying towel for the first time today and its amazing! Literally took me about 5mins to dry the car (about 15 with a chamois) and only had to wring it out once! Well impressed

I sprayed up some headlight protectors, but my spraying skills are rubbish and I broke them so they only went on once!

Then came the lowering

After putting the correct springs in on the front it sat like this, but it scraped on everything!

Also de-wipered the rear yesterday, although hard to tell the difference
from

to

Also taken the decision to go back to the original airbox, but smoothed out, started on it yesterday

Didnt get a shot of the top part before but its just like the bottom really

So raised up pics

CAMBER

reflection again

Last weekend I replaced the passengers side window motor which had been broken since november, also replaced the 2nd set of blown speakers on tuesday. As I was finishing up, put the drivers side window up and that went too! BLOODY

Looks better lower, but those wheels need spacing or replacing.

Amp looks wank in that position though unfortunately - there not room under the passenger seat for it or something? Less obvious to thieving scum then too.

And not really update washing the car is it - yet that's what half this threads about?! Sorry to sound harsh.

Look forward to seeing more updates though

Wheels will be replaced and spaced when I can afford it (with a few weeks hopefully)

Ive also got a bit of wood covering the top so its hard to tell anything is in the footwell

Heading in the right direction now mate - wheels look great. They going to be spaced and slightly stretched tyres?! Seat centre caps in yellow and black would look ace imo!

Engine bay looks better now too - airbox actually make any difference smoothed off?

Still a picture whore aren't you!

Love my pics! Imagine if I had a decent camera too

Im still need to get a panel filter in the airbox (got standard paper jobbie in atm) so don't really want to compair it atm, but its a deeper sound.

Wheels are going to be spaced (20mm rears, 5mm front). Centre caps are black plastic VW jobbies. These wheels didn't come on any Seats so cant get Seat ones, so may just stay as they are

Thanks, far as I know it will be the first mk3 Ibiza to have 'G60 steels' on!

Just thinking about centre caps now, got 3 options

1. use the standard caps which are like this but dont cover the nuts (would get little caps for them. I would rub the VW logo smooth and get some Seat badges

2. get some 'flat caps', which are flat, completely cover up the nuts. Which again would be done black with seat badges on

3. Get caps just for the bore hole bit (which would have seat badges) and get little caps for the nuts

My rear spacers turned up today

The original company I ordered the front spacers off don't have any of the smallish spacers in stock, so Ive just bought some of eBay instead

Wheels should be on later

Mainly a dremal with assorted wheels and blades, then some rough sand paper to get it smoother
