This has been posted on piston heads, and I thought i'd post it here.
Not because its for a worthy cause, but because i think its quite cool and so far quite cheap.
I'm also quite interested to see how much it will sell for as i've got a 993 turbo wheel in the garage my dad said I can have if i can make it into something similar, and sell.

Don't be fooled by the first few pics, its much closer to the ground.
In the correct living room i think it would look okay.

Obviously it looks like what it is, because it is what it is.

Exactly! It's like something a Jippo would make for his caravan.

Thats a pretty poor example of a good idea tbh
A guy near me makes tables like this out of old wheels, and single wheels, but he makes an excellent job.
At the end of the day it aint no Top Gear V8 table

Engine block ones are cool, sticking a piece of glass on top of an alloy isn't.

my dad gave me an alloy off his 328i back in 1997 and ive kept it with the express idea of making a table out of it. Its dished tho so the glass would fit and actually look like it was supposed to be there. As apposed to the above balancing act which looks poor imo.
Whos gunna bet that someone on MIG has an Xe coffee table?! (on tb's of course, lighter for moving round the living room)

Tbh, that alloy with that tyre would be worth an absolute fortune to go on a Ferrari, so it's wasted as a shitty table

I want a V engined table for the living room.
I think it'll slightly flatten the carpet underneath it though

Won't engine block tables be stupidly heavy to move? Or are they a lightweight copy of an engine block presumably?

can't decide if i like that table or not. i like the idea but it just looks a little daft. suppose if you got it in the right room it could look pretty good.

That's the kind of furniture that will really make your house look classy, and when you bring women back they will definitely not think you are a nutter.
