i got shot last night on the jap tunnel run at guess 38 in a 30
which takes me upto 6 points
how much does this affect the insurance?
how long till i get my letter?

think 3 points puts it up on avergare something like 9%, 6 points 30% and 9 points is something like 63%, i was on 9 points a few years back and it was around a 60% increase in my premium.

thats not right, you need to have the N.I.P in a letter within 14 days I think. Without this they can't prosecute you.
Though if they've given you a verbal N.I.P (camera's can't do this) then they have up to 6 months to prosecute you I believe.

Are you sure you got flashed? 38 in a 30 sounds quite unlucky, especially as speedo's are normally out.

yes, you need a Verbal or Written N.I.P
NIP = 'You will be prosecuted for a crime of whatever...'
in this case 'speeding'.
It's basically where the letter for the speed camera comes through or the police officer says 'I'm nicking you son'.

Fucking london is littered with cameras 
I drove into london today and there is one every 5 meters feel more unsafe due to looking at the speedo so much 
Dont think I got done today but I was pottling along behind another car at about 25mph but then relised it has suddenly changed to a 20 limit in the tunnel without warning and I was going through a camera

My insurance went up £7 with 6 points (SP30 & SP50)
It's points gained from anything OTHER than SPXX which has serious effect on insurance in my experience...
I did have MS90 a few years back, that doubled my policy's... When that expired, quotes were much cheaper!

No, I'm all for that one, you really have gotta act fast for a stroke, in situations like that people don't know what to do - they often spend ages going "are you alright, whats up" to the victim, no time for that, 999 straight away.
But, tbh, if your gunna speed through a residential area, you should know the risk of knocking someone over.
If your gunna go shag someone fresh out of a club in a flat stairwell/back alley youd be a fucking idiot not to use a johnny.
