I agree with that German guy, I'm very grateful for my minimum wage job. Its either work at Tesco or be a decorator... and people need to eat.

I work for Local Government in the accounts department.
Lucky to work within the government sector tbh, although they're severly restructing the jobs in the next couple of years and a lot will end up going... luckily the job which i do is dependant upon the working of the council so hopefully i'll stay on.
Great benefits within the job, although the pay isn't the best,,

I work for a Swiss company who manufacter Surverying and GPS equipment. I'm training to be a Service Engineer, which has me going to Switzerland every once in a while.
Good times.
Oh and there are only about 70 trained Engineers in this field in the UK. So chances of being poached are good. And there are similar Service Departments all over the World, so I can move abroad in the future if I want.
Good times again.

best thing to do mate is if you work somewhere that deals with other business's like local business's or business's that use the company you work for. if you know people from that other business then ask them if they will put in a good word for you. im working at a motorway service petrol station £5.78ph 4 days a week. its a totally dead end job but ive just applied to work with a recovery firm that regularily uses the petrol station and theyve all said they would put in a good word and that im like 95% certain of the job. its worth asking about through people you know so they can put in a good word it seems to work! good luck with the hunt anyway mate!
