Got my hands on a pretty much mint standard 1.4 sport last week as a bit of a project i want to do... just exterior mods really... make it look nice and handle well!

Car spec as it is:
full service history
52,000miles
13months mot
12 months tax

i hopefully want it ready to show at PVS this year

so the plans i have in mind to start with:

Irmscher softstars 16"
irmy side skirts
Front Coilovers
100mm rear springs
Spax adjustables on the rear
s/s exhaust
Depo front Headlights
Opel Grill
Punto Rear Wiper
Black Door Cards
Laguna front Splitter
Small Sub/Amp install in boot
Clear front Repeaters
Full machine paint correction/polish


any help/idea's much appreciated

new backbox ready to fit... got it off the old ebay

laguna splitter bought from scrappies for a tenner and depos bought too....
splitter needed plenty of sanding and cutting

also took my grill out... awaiting the new one

so removed old lights, fitted depo's
removed old splitter fitted laguna splitter
cleaned up engine bay

im hopeing to get a similar condition 1400 sport with similar miles and start a project, plans sound good

how much did the car set you back if you dont mind me asking?

cheers, ive never done one of these build threads before, so just wanted to keep a diary of the mods really....

to answer your question, the guy said he had torn one of the old door cards and coldnt get the plain black ones to replace them... so fitted these

im just on with changing them now...

depos look really smart, ive been down a few different scrapies and cant even find a laguna never mind the splitter that was a good find

yes mate, im a sparky during work hours!

im just thinking maybe a panel filter, but i want engine to be standard as i will be using this to travel to work in the near future so has to do good mpg

got the skyline for power lol

right thisafternoon been fitting my plain black door cards that i got from the local scrapyard, and started to debadge and derub-strip the car

postmans just brought me my spanking new fk coilovers aswell

they will be going on next week

hey dude, a few of us have done arden blue with softstars, i have some pics in my garage of a 1.4 and a 1.6 sport wearing then and koop89 ( I think) had done it too? corsa c side repeaters fit straight in place and look tidier than cheap clear repeaters...looks like you have the right kind of idea modwise anyways

backbox fitted, i wasnt sure whether to fit the irmscher one i have but now its on i really like it. Not sat perfect but ill tweak it when i pt the coilovers on next week....

yes it will look better when its slammed and the skirts are on! but wont be any progress untill next week now becase unfortunatly i have to go to work lol

john i went to a jap meet in cottingham last week was pretty good.... cupple of skylines aswell

where do you go like? i hear there a good one at the squires in sherban (spelling)... im planning on that next month.

going to machine polish the skyline in the next cupple of weeks aswell!
