Ive only had this car for about 6-7months, but ive done a lot of work with on it lol

I saw it advertised on MIG web for not much over £100. Then i thought it was a total steal, and looking around it i realised it didnt have much if any rust, amazing for a nova!
I bought it with a seized engine as it had been sat around for ages. It had water in the fuel for some reason. Drained the fuel tank and put some new petrol and it fired up fine.

How it looked when i bought it:

It still has all the dents from the old people that used to have it, but it gives the car a used look lol

After a clean and polish it looked much better.

I put it through a mot and it passed first time. Taxed it and keept it standard for about a week lol
3spokes were first, along with some other small interior things like a parcel shelf and 6 dial GSI clocks

Then other things like a full GSI interior, inc dash, seats, the lot.

GSI spoiler was also fitted.

256mm 2.0 brakes were next.

Arch carpets fitted.

In the engine bay i decided i wanted change. so a corsa rocker cover and blue GSI servo were fitted. Along with a cut to hell corsa airbox and intake.

The finaly.
Bye 1.2 spi beast!

Striped and cleaned inside

Thanks to a good friend the engine was collected. A 1.4 16v Corsa Sport engine.

Fitted

After having LOTS of problems with the imobliser due to not being given the keychip and ring.

Great tool stand

WOO It runs! I sorted all the problems after this vid lol

Interior back in:

Bay looking better

Im now just waiting on a exhaust flexi and steering wheel bolt.

Should have it back as my daily driver by next weekend.

Im sure ive missed loads but meh lol

Thanks for taking the time to read Comments welcome.

Did you get the engine for free/cheap?

You've done all the hard work and only fitted the 1.4... you can get the c16xe in there for the same amount of work (ive had 2 c16xe novas)

Yer the engine was dead cheap. I did think about a 1.6, but it was going to be more expensive all round, tax/insurance.

Plus the x14 isnt done much.

Well. After 3months, £400ish and a lot of swearing, moaning..... First drive of the car. List of faults the lengh of a bendy bus.

Exhaust is blowing and knocking the floor somwhere. Dont have a speedo cable, and the fan is running all the time, due to me not having a working rad switch. Few other faults to sort but meh. Tomorrow or wednesday.

After the above its now back in bits

Nope i havnt crashed it, but the water pump has gone

Walked out the next morning to find the car swimming in its own water.

Seal has gone and the pump is making one hell of a noise.

Teachs me for not doing it before the engine was fitted Doh.

Not updated for a while. Done all the work on the engine, and its now back to its old ways of playing up. Needs a new ICV.

But anyways, ive done a few rather large mods to the car and even more to come soon!

I fitted a rather rubbish looking GSI front bumper, i will be getting it looking good in a month or so.

Next thing was to ditch the old 3spokes in favor for a cheap set of Tigra 5spokes.

And now ive got a few little touchs to do, exhaust needs some work, got a couple of gauges for the inside, Oil temp and oil pressure.

And in a month or so when these tyres have worn past 1.6mm i plan to refurb them in white as per below.

What ya all think?

Well Months later im back to update!

Last month the cars mot and tax ran out, so i decided to strip it.... To rebuild!

This is the first pic i got lol

Ive decided to strip back most of the paint and all off the seam sealer to check for rust, bust all the rust etc.
Plus a engine change again.
All the suspension is being changed or painted so it should be a very fresh car when finished.

Today it looks like this:

There is a very small amount of rust on the whole car.
Few more bits to do and then i can primer it all, get seam sealer on it all, and spray it. Same colour again.

These are a few of the bits that ive painted so far, il get more pics as and when, as theres loads more painted.

Forgot to update this! Big update then! lol

Got it painted of course

Got lots of bits back in

Lobed the engine in

Then it sat like this for a long time!

Now ive got back into it.
Painted the engine cover, and the inlet, plus a few other bits of tidying up

And a depressing pic of how it looks atm

Got a list of things to do, Hope to have it MOT'ed by this time next month.

Comments please!
