Who's declared there mods on there insurance? Did it make your insurance jump to silly amounts?

If i was not to declare say alloy wheels, tinted windows and the car being lowered what could happen?

If you crash your insurance will be null and void and you'd have to pay the damages. And that's the best that could happen!

I've got everything declared, engine conversion, suspension, brakes, interior, respray etc.. £310

Basically worse case scenario:

You seriously injure someone resulting in them having a major disability and your insurance company declares your insurance void due to your modifications, you spend the rest of your life paying for the persons careers and compensation.

im 21 have no NCB, been driving for 4 years and have FC insurance on a 1.4 Corsa Sport for £520. If i declare mods it gets to stupid prices! (mods are not on car yet only alloys) What would i be looking at on Brentecre

When i rang them for mine all they where interested about was the engine conversion and what power mods i had. Exterior mods where covered and declared but didn't effect premium. I.m covered upto 220bhp anymore than that i have to ring and inform them.

P.s i'm with brentacre

Because your supposed to declare everything! I asssume its all to do with how honest you are, and how you actually totalled your car

Tripe tbh

If your mods aren;t declared and you have an accident, then your insurer will ask you to pay an extra on your premium, they don't just tell you they aint paying out.

Will do cheers - 1 more question...

Can you not just say, right ive got some mods but i dont want them to be insured... just the car (and whatever standard bits are on it). Might be a bit far fetched... just a question!

I declared every single mod on the XE Corsa but have had a couple cars that were not declared and had no issues.

Vectra 2.2DTi had had a remap and had White ST Alloys, K&N Panel filter.

No because you are still making the car attractive for others to pinch. And i don't think they would pay out for a car that has bits not declared whn its the bits thats made it more attractive if that makes sense
