basicly what milage has everyone on here got? what is considerd high for these cars? how many miles are these cars good for????

Mines the 1.4 and was on 113k but it blew
Was looked after personally but can't have everything. But 2bh as long as it's got good service history it shouldn't matter as much how much mileage is really to be honest.

I've never had blue smoke out of mine and it's an Ecotec. It also uses so little oil that the change is barely noticeable each time I check.

My 1.4 sport had a slight bit from time to time, and my mates 1.6 does too. The engines are good pullers still though and no problems.
It just depends how its been looked after mate - i wouldnt worry about 80k. Mine had just under that when i sold it and it was making 110bhp from a 1.4 - edit - it wasnt standard obviously

Saying that, mine's neither a 1.4 or 1.6, but still an Ecotec. Just 3/4 of one

Mine doesn't, my mates 1.4 sport doesnt, another mates 1.6 sport doesn't the 1.4 that was in it before didn't, another lad I know has had two 1.6 sports both with over 100,000 and guess what, neither of them smoked.

depends how they have been looked after, sure it does state in the owners manual that they lose 1ltr of oil per 1000miles,

You not confusing this with the Zetec Engine in fiestas?
They are bad for it.
My X14XE has 121K on it and in the last and it doesn't use oil.
