Sold an item yesterday:

Ebay Transformer

Guy paid today via paypal. All seems legit, buyer is from an ebay shop....

He sent a note attached to the payment asking me to ship to a different address than the one posted on paypal as its his friends account.

Sounds dodge to me, is it a regular scam?? There were tons of bids so i can second chance the other guy who lost if hes going to be a chump about it.

I have no problem sending to a different address but i think this would lay me open to no comeback through paypal?!

I've done that before, I often get things delivered to my work address as it's easier, if the item is for the car anyway.

That's just cheeky SR not even having the goods to sell, probably buying off Amazon and selling straight away for a small profit.

That's awesome. I'd have peaked off that as a kid.

Mail the buyer your concerns, tell him you are only willing to send it in his name, could be an option.

why? I do it all the time, the ebay account is at my dads address, so all i do is ask them to send it to my address, no problems.

Just say your posting it to the account holders address as ebay has told you to do so due to stolen accounts. I get stuff delivered to different addresses as im always at work but its always put under the right name.

Im worried as i send it to a diff address, with diff name, he takes it, refunds money via paypal saying never recieved and i wont have a leg to stand on because the name and address where not on the payapl or ebay account so could of been hacked.

Everyone on ebay, except me is a scammer. Well they could be and id rather not loose the £180 as im skint!

Im not a scammer
I agree with you though, just send it the the given address not the one he says. If anything he should have told you about that situation before he bought it. Then say if he cancels the payment persue him for fees as ebay will back you on that.

Too risky, he may be genuine, but if hes "mates" with the guy then surely he can just pick it up from his house

And yes Joe, i was shocked too! One of the last transformers i owned, and it shows cos i hardly ever played with it kept all the bits too.

Well worth the wait to put this on
