Since the dawn of Nokia Symbian devices i have always had Nokia, sworn by it!
In the last few years ive gone through the N70, N73, N95, N95 8Gb, and lastly the N96.
I got my N96 in October, and it was possibly the most shocking nokia ive ever owned, the OS was ok, a little glitchy but the actual build of the phoen was terrrible.
A few weeks ago i was forced to leave Vodafone due to poor reception at my new office, Myself and vodafone came to a good agrement and i left 9 months earlly.
Knowing O2 were the only provider that had reception at my new office i had to go with them. Knowing the N97 was due to be released I was allite excited but had some bg doubts after the N96, But also knowing the iPhone S was around the corner i was stuck.
As some might recal i was a full on iPhone hater hated everything about it! especially the camera! and the fact it did nothing more than what my onld N series phones from 4 years ago did.
Howerver the minute i picked up a 3GS to play with i knew it was the phone for me! I like my phones to be nmore about the business isde of things, games etc.. do not intrest me.
Everything about the phone is just leagues ahead of any phone ive ever used, yes it might not do no more than what a 4/5 year old N Series does but its the fact that it just does it right, nothing more nothing less!
Everything from, email to web browsing it just blows any other phone ive ever had away and the N95 8Gb was amazing! this makes the N95 look like a sagem!
I could go on for hours about the phone, but if anyone is wanting a new phone i would receomend the 3GS all day long. If you want a phone that doesnt crash, doesnt have issues, battery lasts 3 days with plenty of apps running then its the phone for you!
The iPhone is without a doubt why O2 are now the biggest operator in the UK!

HTC Magic blows the iWank, I mean iPhone out of the water..
I used to always have the Nokia Symbian devices until they became unusable because they become slow, clunky pieces of shit with a three second battery life

My E71 is fast, and easy to use, even faster since last nights firmware update. I think I'll go android next though, hopefully in a nokia e series.
Forgot to say, battery lasts at least 2 days for me.

N series phones are made from blu tac and plastic bags, don't think I'll be getting another one of them after the N73 and N81. I like how it works and stuff but it's been scratched and dented to fuck since about a month after i got it.

Ive had a very brief play with the HTC's and they dont seem to bad, just not keen on the hanndset designs.
Im sure that as more come out this year they will improve and if Nokia roll with Android then that would be a good partnership.

No, its a passive sharing agreement, just means using the same sites to save on energy costs etc

That was the biggest anti climax ever, it's ended up being sharing aircon units or something stupid like that.

Interesting report. I was very similar to you. Hated all things Apple - the way they screwed you over for not the latest tech etc.
Was a WM user since the beginning but since switching to the iPhone could not have been happier.
Been funny to see how many people have resisted and resisted then switched and found it so easy to use.

Mine was bought SIM free so will be debranded.
I presume the update wont wipe my handset clean and I lose everything?

Im not an iphome hater, i just wouldnt own one. I enjoy the functionality of my phones.
I love the look of them, very cool. Have beeen unimpressed using the tho. Love safari but dislike the touch reponse.
Its over hyped, typical Apple product really.

Media's fault, both companies were completely transparent about it

MarkM on my phone so don't want to try trimming quotes but it does wipe the data, do a backup in pc suite, the only problem I've had is not all my programs restoring, I've got loads odds rubbish on mine though so I'll just reinstall anything I need.

It would be great if you could tell me how I check what software mine is running?
I don't have any programs on there at the moment so that shouldn't be a problem. I just dont want it to lose all the settings changes I have made as I like it how it is set right now.

Yip *#0000# the update only came out 2nd June and begins with 300, previous versions will begin with a 2.
Biggest speed improvement I noticed today was scrolling on webpages.
