so fucking boring and soviet

I was on Cell block G on a lathe:

open the door
put chunk of iron onto magnet
close door
press button
open door
remove new threaded piece of iron
pass it on

in 10 hours I did that 756 times with someone sat on a chair watching me, nobody spoke, not even on our 10 min break at 1am nor on our 15 min dinner at 4am, they were the most reclusive bunch of mongs Ive ever seen, I seen the day shift walking in as we were comming out and they were all normall nodding saying hello lauging and that, the night shift really does get the oddballs

fuck that I aint going back, when I walked in the man who was watching me said "haha I hope your going to stay more than 1 night, weve had 3 different men on this machine this week none have lasted more than a night"

Tonight they will have a 4th person not comming in after 1 shift

did your old boss get back to you again? my brother once went and worked in a food processing factory with his mate. he spent all the time putting a dollop of beans on a ready meal plate. despite going with his best mate to talk to he jibbed it after a morning. left for dinner and never went back

I knew it wasnt going to be what I was used to and I didnt know quite what to expect, I went with an open mind and a view that, money is better than no money and I will be happier with a job but seriously that would have made my mood ten times worse, Im gonna have to find summat on a building site where I belong, the search continues

the nail in the coffin was I think when the supervisor said on our way out "see you later men" I was just thinking OMG hes right, its not even tomorrow we have to come back its later on!

also reminds me of the time i worked at a fruit and veg packaging plant. I used to work the weekend mornings (as i was in college at the time) and hated it, couldn't do anything the night before as at the very latest you would be in at 8 the following morning. Then during the summer of my first year at college they were short on the evening shift (6-10) so i covered for a week and ended up doing that instead. despite now working with a bunch of middle aged women (unlike the students i worked with at the weekend) i really enjoyed it. Its actually a job i kind of miss, so laid back, easy work, was allowed to listen to music all the way through, good banter

thats what was missing with this place, it was freezing no music on, no talking, you had to ask to use the toilet!

I could hack doing donkey work if its laid back and the people are ok but that was a joke last night
