How are you getting on with them?
I love my E71 but I'm finding myself using the internet on my phone much more in work and as much as the internet is brilliant for the size of screen more screen real estate is obviously better.
I'm considering trading in for a Magic, hero is far too expensive to buy sim free atm.
Experiences, pros cons etc, how is android in general?

Brilliant phone mate, Ive had a Blackberry storm, Blackberry Bold and an iPhone 3G and i would take the Magic over all of them every time. I havent heard a bad word said off anyone about them tbh.

What about the touchscreen for typing?
I had an HTC something or other when it first came out last year and just didn't get on at all with the touchscreen, I like good old fashioned buttons.

The touch screen is the same as the iPhone so its perfect and natural feeling for on screen keyboards etc.. Cant use a stylus.

I'll need to find a good forum for them, I like playing about with stuff, ie hacking the nokias to install unsigned programs and general geeky stuff, which from what i've seen of android so far there is plenty of.

forum.xda-developers.com is really good. Ive got the HTC Dream (G1) but got the hero rom on it at the min and it really is a great phone spend all day browsing the net at work, left it at home one day and was the longest most boring day ever.

G1 is a Dream, net is my one and only reason for changing so if that's good that's quite a long way towards fitting me needs

I'm still mulling this, looks like it'll cost me the best part of 300 quid for one.
Anybody rooted theirs yet?

Was that ebay? I'm keeping my eye out but it'll be next week at the earliest because I want to get my E71 away first.

I fancy having a go at android.
I've had windows mobile before and although I do like messing about, wm didn't function well enough as an actual phone, phone functionality seemed tacked on at the end.

Give it a go: Android ported to a liveCD. I was looking at this last week.
p.s I found that download very slow and eventually got it from a torrent site.
It just allows you to play with the Android OS on your laptop
*edit* for me it was similar to the Iphone OS, but the android came accross as very mickey mousey and I personally didnt like the feel compared to the Iphone.
