I have a mate who always sings when he's drunk, he's in a band too. He has quite a talent IMO.

A lad who I used to go to school with is the lead singer for quite a successful local band, judge for yourself as to his ability

When I was younger I was a good singer. I remember singing 'stand by me' to a group of girls at school and one of them started crying coz she thought it was 'so beautiful'.

These days I can't sing for toffee, my voice just can't hit the right notes any more Although doesn't stop me still singing at karaoke / in my car.

On the same subject as Jas... there were quite a few people i met when travelling that had guitars played songs etc...

but there was this one guy who was on my boat at the Whitsundays, he was bloody brilliant. You could say any song and he'd start playing it / singing it perfectly!

Would be great just to automatically be able to play any song on a guitar and sing along with it.

The james guy needs lessons especially in pronunciation with his lisp, plus he wobbles when he gets high. The other guy is pretty good, although he doesn't have any real power to his voice which is noticable in The Calling cover.

Thing is... Britains got talent shows that people go crazy over 'average joe' people with medicore talent

The fact is, that won't make them a superstar.

No, but these "average joes" bring in the money regardless of talent - which is a shame, but that's how it is.

Anyways, i certainly wasn't using that wank show as reference, i'm going off what i've been taught at uni and 5/6 years working in studios. And personally i would say that the people in the videos posted are pretty good but at first glance i wouldn't say they were special. Although it's more of the case they have sung tracks that aren't suited to their voice, and it shows flaws rather than what they can do.
