Need some idea's and opinions on places for a night out around the North/midlands area.
My best mate is home on R & R from Afghan next month and he mentioned that he wanted to have a night out somewhere new before he goes back, so im looking or somewhere good. The reason for it having to be around the North and Midlands is that the cost seems to be alot more to go down south etc, any idea's?

Only place ive been out over the border & tbh I think it was good but cant really remember much. I do know that I was taken to hospital that night after drinking absinth out the bottle to get my stomach pumped but somehow got superman powers while being admitted in and managed to escape
Wild night

Forgot to mention Scotland is probably a no, are there actually people that consider going to scotland for a 'good' night out?
We have already been to Newcastle and going again in a few weeks Colin, and also Liverpool, should have mentioned this in the first post.

Edinburghs alright, quite touristy though if that bothers you.
Glasgow - I can never navigate myself round & always end up steaming and lost.
Aberdeens really good, some excellent bars and resturants, loads of decent hotels. Pretty much dominated by Oilers and fashermen and eastern europeans off the boats.
Wouldnt make an effort to go anywhere else though!!

PS, just go to Birmingham. Plenty down there to see, jump on, moleste, fight with, drink with, and collapse under.

Blackpool if you want a cheap and wild night out plus The Syndicate is there.
I enjoyed the stag do I went on in Nottingham and it wasn't rough like I thought it might be. Some seriously fine birds around

I have to say, the best nights out I have ever had have been in Glasgow. People have a really poor opinion off it but its better than most places I have been, Newcastles alright, not great though.
Manchester is decent from my memory off it if your not keen on coming this far North

Manchester is good. been to Leeds a couple of times and that was also good. was cheap cause of the students and it was rife with fanny.
