Looking to possibly go on holiday in December/January. This is probably a stupid question, but I'm assuming we're quite limited in which destinations we can go to due to holiday season etc being over? I wanted to go to Greece but can't seem to find any winter holidays for this, so hence my assumption.

do you want to go somewhere busy? (going by your in season comment)

Grand Canaria is cheap and still quite warm (if a little windy) this time of year.

It doesn't have to be busy, but I'd like it to be a place that has something to do and isn't just a hotel stuck in the middle of nowhere. Nice places to eat, few places to drink and preferably some culture.

I'm going away beggining of October (not quite winter but getting there) Was looking at going to the canary islands coz its hot pretty much all year round, but it was quite expensive for all inclusive. Had a loook at Mexico and it was alot cheaper for a much nicer hotel. Hot all year round too and lots to do.

You may as well wait and go somewhere in May when it's a bit warm and not expensive as hell. Greece in December won't be warm. You and Zander thinking about going on holiday together Sheldo?

They're wrong, it'll be warmer than here i'd imagine tho. Although you are in Scotland, so depends on their definition of warm

Tenerife's ideal for a week away actually, you know what your getting there, its very english, no hidden surprises, and like you say pretty much guaranteed sun all year round. Quite fancy it myself now its been mentioned....hmmmm

I may be wrong then,

Average temperatures in Vilamoura, the Algarve:
January to March 17ºC/ 63ºF,
April to June 22ºC/72ºF,
July to September 27ºC/81ºF,
October to December 18ºC/64ºF.

Not too bad really
