When I worked for Topshop, I always thought that some of the women they used for the advertisments looked like they lived on a diet of Cocaine and fags. However, whilst browsing through the Urban Outfitters website looking for a dress, I came across this:
Is it just me or does that look mega unhealthy? Is that even attractive to anyone? I expect that of designers and what not as their clothes are designed for tiny women, but how many women are walking into high street stores with a frame like that?
Edit: Just realised that on a predominantly male forum, this was a stupid thread Apologies for the lack of boobies!

I really don't like girls that look like a size 6, where you can see their ribs through their chest and their collar bone could be snapped if you accidently miss when trying to do a nipple twister.

I don't think they're even a size 6 tbh! I don't think it's selling the garments well though, because if a dress hangs like a sack of shit on someone that thin, it's going to look horrendous on someone who is about a size 12.

They are rank to look at.
Size 12-14 is where it's at.

I know this is going to get the usual gay comments..
But I studied display design at college which involved researching into fashion and trends.
The mannequins we used were always insanely thin ie like the pictures above.
I always thought clothes sat horribly on them. No shape at all and it was like puttin a dress on a boy.

Not nice, but you see a lot of women like that going into shops like topshop etc.
My gf is only a size 6 but you cant see her rib cage or collar bones so if they want petite woman to model i'm sure they could find enough that dont look ill.

Yeah Neo, you're right. It's not wrong to be thin, some people are naturally petite and that's fine. I just don't think the girls in the photos are naturally that size.
The store I worked in used to stock a size 4 quite readily, but you couldn't find anything above a 12.

ok i couldn't imagine a size 4. Got to be for 10/11 year olds who want something their friends dont have.
I thought a big push was made towards the modelling world for more size 8 - 10 women

The second one looks thin not ill, but still I hate why models have to be thin, why It looks worse than a normal sized woman. They say its the clothes you look at not the model, not really.

Its not about looking nice or attractive. Its what stuck up toss pot high fashion types deem to be fashionable and stylish. Everyday is where its at.

See I'm in the middle because I don't think that incredibly thin look is pretty, but that's one hell of a belly curve Curves should be in the bum, hips and boobs. There's a balance! All about personal taste though really.
