nothing but trouble since i've had this fucking car!!!
right then, it's starting to have a mind of it's own now.
revving up and down to 2.5k on idle, sometimes it doesn't like to start, just cuts out.
when driving and slowing down, i dip the clutch to change down a gear and revs drop and cuts out. not all the time, but often...every day.
EML came on, done paper clip test and got:
1405 EGR valve
0400 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve
0110 Intake ATS
0443
0505
last two are not on the list...anyone know what they are?!
EML" target="_blank">http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm#gm[url=http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm#gm]EML fault codes (last list on the page)
this has gone on for a week now and i'm so annoyed. nearly caused an accident when it cut out at a roundabout
i have replaced the ICV thinking that was causing the messy idle...not fixed it though
i have ordered some vacuum piping, so going to replace all that as sean-b has suggested
what else can i do people????
thanks in advance for any help,
macky

clean out the egr valve or renew expensive, fit new ats sensor cheap, then disconnect battery for few hours to clear stored codes then see how you get on .

forgot to say i cleaned the throttle body out.
it looks like it's had a new EGR valve quite recently, no proof in the form of receipts though (just looks clean and shiny!) i have been told to just block this off which i might do soon
would duff ATS cause it to idle high and fluctuated?

check for air leaks as it does sound like you have a air leak,
the egr may look clean but if they have gone and got a cheap after market one then that will be buggered aswell.

yeah i've sealed around the inlet manifold gasket with silicone sealant! because there was a possibility that was leaking.
where else should i check? just all the vacuums?
Dec-Rossi...it's annoying isn't it, when it cuts out people think you have stalled it and when it revs up to like 2k people think you can't drive properly!
feel like a right bellend lol
any ideas what the two mystery codes are anyone?!

i know mate
i've found the trick though foot on the brake and clutch up to the bite in 1st. it makes the revs drop and also you don't look like you want a race at every single junction! it's the cutting out that pisses me off most!
anyone know if it could be the Throttle Positioning Sensor??

yea man i just let the clutch out in and out till im bumper to bumper with the car in front lol, mines been like it for a few weeks now so i can pretty much tell when its gonna cut out, slowing into a roundabout with the handbrake clutch in and foot on the gas lol it is tricky, need three legs lol ive heard so many different cures for this i dont know which 1 to believe, anyone know of a reputable garage in the south west? tired of grease monkey mechanics without a clue, want someone who knows what they are talking about...

When you cleaned out the tb did you make sure you put the rubber sealing ring back on correct as any air leaks or a small split will cause running problems, also icv may have been contaminated when you cleaned tb if you did not remove it off the tb first.

pretty sure the rubber seal was on properly and i did check for splits and it looked fine
ICV contaminated?
is there a certain setting that the thread needs to be screwed in/out to on the ICV?
i just made sure it was in all the way...
